LONDON ART FAIR GUIDE 2018

Art fairs: if you ask me, there is no better way I would like to spend my time. Yeah yeah, art exhibitions too. But at an art fair... all you can see, you can buy! Ain't the definition of paradise? It would if I could afford all that I like!

Unless has been already sold. So better to put the dates on your calendar and buy the tickets in advance. It’s time to get fascinated, get transported, and get some new art.

In January we've been to the London Art Fair and last Sunday we've been to The Other Art Fair. Each of the fairs in London has its own character and target clients. Find out which is your favourite, and go stroll around. It's such a pleasure to make up your mind on what’s hot and what’s not in the art world.

LONDON ART FAIR

Modern and contemporary art from around the world. Museum quality works.

It was on 17-21 January, it returns on 16-20 January 2019.
Islington Business Design Centre; londonartfair.co.uk

TALENTED ART FAIR

Second edition. New artists sell their art directly to the public. If you ask me, you need to be an expert to get good quality stuff, but hey, you might find plenty of works that you like (prices start from £50). For youngers, outside or inside.

2-4 March, The Old Truman Brewery; talentedartfair.com

AFFORDABLE

It became so popular that now pops up in Europe, Asia and America. Carefully curated selection of works from over 100 galleries. Similar to the Talented but a bit better.

Passed: 8-11 March, Battersea Park; Next: 10-13 May, Hampstead Heath;

THE OTHER ART FAIR

One of my favourite. Selection of work from emerging and undiscovered artists by Saatchi Art.

Unfortunately, it is finished. 22-25 March, Victoria House; theotherartfair.com

LONDON ORIGINAL PRINT ART FAIR

Work from masters old and new. Experts on hand to talk you through what’s on display.

3-6 May, Royal Academy; londonoriginalprintfair.com

START ART FAIR
Fifth edition. The aim is of introducing a young generation of artists to new audiences. Not affordable but a great insight into the future of contemporary art.

13-16 September, Saatchi Gallery; startartfair.com

FRIEZE

Hundreds of galleries and thousands of artists - this is the date on the annual arts calendar. Here people buy stuff signed by Damien Hirst or Tracy Emin, to say a few. Interesting crowd.

4-7 October, Regent’s Park; frieze.com/fairs
