DESIGN SHOPPING TOUR - ZIMBABWE 02

Here we are talking about buying art in Africa.

Mutapo is a pottery gallery run by the ceramic artist Marjorie Wallace. Her fine porcelain objects are scratched, pressed and incised with the most modern linear designs and decoration. The result resembles often the traditional baskets. Her products are also sold at Conrad Shop in London.

What can I say about Delta Gallery? Just spending some times there talking with the founders and curators Derek and Helen makes you not wanting to leave Africa ever again.

The gallery is situated in the former home of Robert Paul (Zimbabwe’s finest landscape painter). The building - built in 1894 - it's probably the oldest existant house in the city of Harare.

The gallery, established in 1975, promotes Zimbabwean contemporary visual art and hosts the exhibitions of Zimbabwean paintings, graphics, mixed media sculptures and ceramics.
